ABOUT

Eloi Molí, AEC, is an internationally recognized cinematographer with over 30 years of experience in the film industry. A member of the Spanish Society of Cinematographers (AEC), IMAGO, and the International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600), Molí has dedicated his life to the craft of visual storytelling. His work is defined by a deep artistic sensibility, technical mastery, and a relentless pursuit of cinematic excellence.

His passion for imagery began at the age of 9, when he took an introductory photography course at school. Fascinated by the magic of the darkroom, he convinced his parents to set one up in his room—an early testament to his unwavering commitment to the craft.

During his final year of high school, Molí interned on a film set and discovered his true calling: cinematography. At 17, he made the definitive decision to pursue a career as a Director of Photography, enrolling at Barcelona Film University while simultaneously working as a camera assistant. Over the next 11 years, he built a solid reputation in the industry, collaborating with renowned filmmakers and refining his expertise behind the camera.

In 2007, Molí transitioned into the role of cinematographer, embarking on a dynamic career that has spanned feature films, television, documentaries, music videos, and high-profile commercials. His ability to craft striking and emotionally resonant visuals has made him a sought-after collaborator for acclaimed directors and production teams worldwide.

Among his most notable works are the feature film The Best Years (Gli anni più belli, 2020), directed by Gabriele Muccino, and the Emmy-winning documentary series Cosmos: Possible Worlds (2020). He also served as Director of Photography on Studio City, a series that went on to win multiple Emmy Awards. His latest project, the documentary Hasta Encontrarlos (2025), explores the history and impact of gang violence in El Salvador.

His work has garnered numerous awards, including Best Cinematography at the Silicon Beach Film Festival, F.A.S.H. Festival, Fuengirola Film Festival, and Villamayor Film Festival. In the advertising world, his talent has been recognized with four Gold, six Silver, and three Bronze Cannes Lions, as well as Golden and Bronze Laus Awards. Most recently, he was nominated for Best Cinematography at the Indie Series Awards.

For Molí, still and moving images are forms of art, each requiring a unique blend of intuition, technical expertise, and emotional depth. His work synthesizes classic cinematographic techniques and modern innovation, seamlessly blending beauty, narrative, and technology. With a keen eye for composition and lighting, he continues to push creative boundaries, capturing images that resonate, inspire, and endure.
